This lecture was hard to understand as some terms such as osmotic and hydrostatic pressure were not explained. It also was not fun or engaging as the presenter utilized a monotone voice and did not challenge viewers with pop-up questions.

Hello Lecturio team I am very much appreciated the Renal Diagnostics by Dr. Carlo Raj. A very detailed way and with clinical examples. Overall, lecturio courses have a very deep logics in it. Particularly Dr Rajs has great way of explaining and very much captivates your attention, because he explains and seeing problems from many angles if you like , almost like a MRI scan. I also watch in my language as well.

I think this video hits the balance between going slowly enough to ensure understanding and quickly enough to retain interest. I also like the frequent questions/pauses to answer. I felt like I was getting a headstart on spaced repetition and it did help reinforce that I was understanding the concepts.

She did not seem as upbeat as Prof Lawes for example. Also, stumbled on her words a lot.

I find the lectures very easy to understand and remember. I enjoy the fun parts too.

This is an excellent lecture that integrates other body systems and applies the effects to the kidneys. Understanding where and why all of the hormones act on the nephron was thoroughly and expertly explained. Very, very well done.

I have been struggling to understand this subject But this lecture with couch! And her way of explaining, finally I am getting it ! It is very good the way she tries to repeat every now and then And when she talks about nursing, I see that she puts very important thoughts about how to care the person with the way to talk. Providing feedback as requested with the sole goal of helping you improve the service. Generally - I like it, but my impression is that simple things are explained in great detail, whereas the explanation of most complex items is rushed and insufficient. I had to search elsewhere for information.

This really helped to understand the fluid compartments and where the ions are located. The graphics were great and explained the concept well.

The lectures are pretty good but many of the ddx are dependent on the histo, EM, IM, etc findings. PLEASE provide a pointer for future lectures. Simply describing what we should be seeing is not as helpful - it's difficult to follow along.

Professor Lawes, I absolutely love your teaching style. You get me as if you were right in my head. I love that interactive dialogue because often you are right about how I feel about something. For example, you will say something like "don't wait for me to tell you the answer!" I totally respond to healthy shaming and I bet so do many other students. I was so lost and miserable before I joined lecturio. My sons (10 and 7) came across your ads on youtube and urged me to give you a try. I confess I only did it to honor their suggestion. Wow what a revolution this has been! I wish they took my advice the way I did theirs! Btw, do you tutor 4th grade:)? The orator presented the information in a way that was clear and competent. The layout was easy to follow. The couch strategy she used to categorize the values was beneficial to my learning. After following the steps of how to interpret ABG’s. I can confidently say, I understand how to interpret ABG values, I am able to determine which system is at fault, know if they functioning at a level to help fix the problem. What I’ve learned from lecturio, I am assured I can effectively communicate with other healthcare professionals. My ability to apply the necessary skills/interventions that will assist my patients in regaining their optimal level of functioning in a safe and effective manner has increased as a result of this information.

Videos are short; to the point, easy to grasp, knowledge check pauses, a quiz at the end. 100% RECOMMENDED!

I thought this lecture was relatively easy to follow. The video brings forward the relevant pathways to highlight them and Dr Wilson explains their function and why they are causing the response they do. I can understand that if you watch this one out of series it might be a little hard to follow but like most of the lecturio videos, you should watch the entire series once through and then review specific videos at your leisure.

The content is great, it's just hard to understand. Dr Raj knows a lot, but it's hard to understand everything. So it's like a Ferrari without wheels, you have the power, but it struggles getting you somewhere. It's not the ideal scenario with something like this, like pathology, and because of the amount of content in the program. Like I said, other than that, great.

It is great how Dr. Raj integrates pathophysiology with clinical correlations, including pharmacology and its mechanisms.

good visual slides, good summary slides, repeats information in different ways for understanding and good presentation for memory aid (fluid in inappropriate places).

Dr. Raj is a very good teacher. He always finds a fast way to bring relevant review information, as well as clinical references.

I like it but because of COVID the exam was online and the paper was beyond difficult. Renal was part of the scope but very few renal questions so much so That, I can’t even remember doing any.

I think it summarizes the most important concepts one should one about renal physiology, giving good examples and also using graphics that help in understanding them better.

Great case, and good way of explaining things. Very good

The explanations are very good and concise. Nonetheless, specially in these topics, we need to see more images, there are a lot of glomerular damage patterns even for the same disease (e.g. FSGN) and I do not think there were enough images to learn them. Also, a pointer is needed, Dr. Raj described numerous glomerular lesions and sometimes it was difficult to follow his descriptions as he didn’t have a pointer to help him locate those lesions. Even with these problems I really liked how Dr. Raj really emphasized the diseases patterns and reminded them almost in every video (E.g. SubEPIthelial in PSGN).

Profesor Wilson makes hard physiological processes easy to understand and deduct.

B12 is produced by bacteria. Almost all vegans know we have to consume it with supplements, I heard it a thousand times already. We don't need any animal products to have enough B12, stop spreading misconceptions. How about telling about how eating too much purine (daily meat) may causes gout? It's much more common.

In the beginning I did not understand some of the topics, but after number of repetions I understood the subjects explained. Send questions in nephrology and other subjects. My feedback is positive even though at first it was not so.

There was a profound description of physiopathology, with emphasis on the clinical elements that helped lead to diagnosis. There was a lack of precision regarding diagnostic cut-off values, treatment and follow-up.

The content of this course was fairly comprehensive and Professor Wilson does a good job of explaining most of the content. The quiz questions are also useful though sometimes poorly worded. I really liked the last few lectures on the more clinical practicalities of the content we had just learned. The course is arranged in a way that makes it somewhat difficult to follow sometimes. I had to go away and make sure i was read up fairly well on the kidney before i could understand enough to watch through all the lectures and i feel a better introduction to the kidney and how its anatomy and physiology are arranged and interconnect would have been useful. I think a section regarding the interaction of pharmacology and renal physiology would also have been a nice touch. All in all, worthwhile once you can begin to understand it

The lecture is great, really informative, loved it. The quiz has one of the questions as, what structure is NOT located within the sinus and the answer is given as ureter when the answer should be the calyx. As the ureter passes through the hilum and out the sinus, but the calyx does not exit the kidney.

I don't like the use of acronyms when speaking because it is very distracting. Important content is all in the lecture which is a good thing, but I'd much rather use the pathoma videos for this topic.

Great lecture series. Very in depth and it ties physiology, pathology, and pharmacology all together

The lecturer does a great job at keeping the presentation interesting, however he rushed over several points in the topics to the point in which he ignored some of the information present in his slides. Also, it feels out of place when he jumps to different topics that have little to nothing to do with the present lecture. Finally, the lecture feels SO rushed that he missed key aspects of the pathology of every desease he talked about, especially Potter Sequence and its etiologies.

I thought this was the worst taught course Lecturio has to offer. I was left confused most of the time. Fortunately Ive used lecturio for other courses and was very satisfied so I will still recommend this program.

This lecture left me confused at exactly the interplay between these two systems. Perhaps its the diagram. I was lost after Decreased Osmolality. I think that is where this lecture goes down hill.

This is about the best lectures I have had all my life. I like it very much because the lectures are very explicit, The approach is fantastic. And the tutors are very experienced. They have a full grab of the subjects they teach. The team is like a conglomerate of experts from all fields of medical science. It has really helped in my studies in medical school. With Lecturio, there's no dull moment. It's actually a huge privilege for those of us studying Medicine and Surgery in Africa. Lecturio is a solid and highly efficient learning Platform. Dr. Raj is a seasoned communicator, and has just the right balance of serious professional demeanor, clarity of speech and concepts, and good humor you want in a Teacher. This lecture, like the others I’ve watched so far, is excellent stuff!

Congratulations once more, Dr. Raj. Learning is much funnier when lecturers have a good sense of humour. Explaining the management of Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus is not an easy task, but putting humour the middle of that is even harder. You succeeded very well in both tasks. I liked it specially when you said "go to the clinic, kickbutt and be hoisted by your collagues" after discussing the wise intersection of topics between pathology (bipolar disease, and its chronic lithium treatment) and pharmacology (amiloride). Ingenious!

It would be nice if the material was presented in a less intense manner. It feels more like he is prepping football players for a big game. It is very distracting. Perhaps, if the lecture didn't feel so choppy it would be more enjoyable.

Dr Raj is super cool!!!! I finally understood the concepts of transport and the respective pathologies!

I loved how you dissected the topic so clearly, making clear distinctions between the different classes of drugs, how they work, where they work, why we use them and who needs them. GREAT lecture.

Please replace Dr. Raj. I feel like I am being preached to and not reached! I believe he knows the subject matter but his delivery is not nice.

Dr Wilson is very good as a public speaker. He brings just the right amount of humor and he takes complicated topics and makes them easy to understand. I wish there were more practices questions to the quizes.

It needs more clinical correlation with diseases in the IV fluids For example, when to use normal saline or when to use dextrose this will make our understanding better

Great couse. Detailed, but made simple. I thought it was very useful and great that there were a bit more questions than what i've seen in some of the previous series i've been watching. I would definently recomend it to others. I study veterinarian medicin, so i would ofcourse have loved it if you also made courses for that, because i still have to study the species differences from my book after watching the series - but it is great that I can get the main principles from your lectures it truly does help a lot.

Hi I liked it because it's concise and clinically related.I think more pictures of patients gross and microscopic demonstrations will be of great benefit.Also, more emphasis to differentiate them from glomerual diseases is encaraged

Did good job explaining some of the expected changes, but a poor job at others and simply stated direction of arrow without explanation. Overall, a good lecture but definitely room for more detail to be discussed. Also, very surprised effects of acute blood loss/trauma was not covered.

I felt it lacked detail of specific transporters, and no references to any diseases or drug MOAs. Not very detailed for medical review/test prep.

Dr Raj is outstanding, and these lectures are excellent. These are perfect for preparing for medical exams. Detailed, in depth, and concise, I am hugely impressed.

I think if you're looking for a very detailed explanation of the system, I think this video is perfect and it goes at a very good pace too. I only needed an specific amount of information, so I ended up watching a video that was too specific for me to use.

The talk was interesting but no clear explanation of how PKD gene causes cysts moreover no discussion over management of these patients

Clear and concise, concepts were explained in enough detail and slowly enough to follow.

Dr. Shunkle provides a great explanation of the RAAS. The lecture follows nicely along with my book and studies.

The lecture is enough detailed so one does not fall behind compared to others who choose to read about this topic. The lecturer speaks slow and calm, and he is very articulate.

The images and lecture format are very helpful, but I get very distracted every time this professor mis-speaks or stumbles on the lecture. I'm not sure why the lecture is posted with these errors since they can be confusing when you're learning the material for the first time.

Also the presentation with comparisons and simple key facts instead of too much material is really nice. The best thing, you actually made me think through the whole lecture compared to just passively listen.

Excellent. The explanation is clear and concise and so are the graphics which with he explains. Wish I had this when i was taking physiology courses (in comparison to now that I am using it to review for the equivalency exam in Spain). USE IT.
