Molecular and cell biology can be defined as the study of the biomolecules necessary to build and sustain the cells that make up living organisms, as well as of how a typical cell functions. Molecular and cellular biology is the cornerstone of the basic and clinical sciences in medical education. On this subject rests the ability to understand more-complex concepts of physiology, histology, embryology, and anatomy, as well as how normal processes can go awry and cause illness.
In this course, the student will be exposed to the basics of biomolecules and the most important principles of cellular functioning, including the structure of cells, the cell cycle, cell division, and gene expression.
For optimal comprehension, the student will be required to be familiar with the basic concepts of college-grade biology.
As a retired physician, still professing clinical subjects at a medical school, it is great to have an opportunity to revisit topics last studied in depth in the 1970s! It is presented in clear and digestible aliquots and in a logical sequence by qualified lecturers.
I love cell biology and this classes are amazing. Thank you
I appreciate these refresher and very well-explained building lectures.
Covered a vast portion of the basics that are the most important part of the foundation. The structure of the course is phenomenal and the way it is carried out is engaging and made extremely interesting. Concepts are crystal clear after going through the whole course. Thank you so much, psyched to have found this! I only wish this material was downloadable for future reference. Hoping it could be. Thanks again! This has cleared the slightest doubts Ive ever had, hoping to have many more courses conducted by Georgina Cornwall.
