Get an introduction to the science of life!

Medicine and many other scientific fields rely on biology—the science of life. This online course provides you with a broad insight into biology basics and advanced topics like genetics, making it the perfect preparation for your pre-med test.

This comprehensive online course combines 2 individual courses:

1. Biology Basics

  • In this basic biology course, your tutor Jonathan Clark will give you an overview of the basic structure of the cell, the field of genetics, and the microscopic world of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites.

2. Genetics

  • Building on these fundamentals, Georgina Cornwall will then take a closer look at the research field of genetics. Designed for pre-med students, her course will cover all the important topics beginning with classic Mendelian genetics, followed by a detailed discussion of gene expression and regulation, and ending with a thorough review of theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of biotechnology and genomics.

3. Cell Biology

  • The second course by Georgina Cornwall covers another important part of advanced biology—cell biology. Taking this online course, you will learn more about the main cytological topics such as intracellular chemical processes, macromolecules, cellular structures, cellular transport mechanisms, cell communication, and many more

By the end of this comprehensive online biology course, you will not only have mastered the basic terminology used in biology and have received an overview of the structure and branches of this discipline, but have an advanced understanding genetics.

Including many quiz questions in every lecture and a special course containing high yield questions on genetics, aging, nutrition, molecular biology, and cell biology, this course is both a review course and a perfect online test preparation.

Not relevant
By Catalina M. on 21. October 2016 for Genetics

I think the content is not that relevant for a medical student. Also de Professor is constantly looking down at the slides which is really annoying.

By Arwa A. on 11. October 2016 for Cell Biology

Some parts that the instructor was going through were not gone into depth when they should have and some parts should have their own video.

Moderately brief and concise
By Conrad J. on 24. September 2016 for Cell Biology

Just an introductory lecture on any course enkindles a burning zeal to learn more. It is a perfect review lecture on the go and a better way to have fun while learning. A perfect definition of concise learning in a limited period.

I like it a lot. Good review. The slides for mitosis is the wrong one, ie different lecture notes
