This course provides an in-depth exploration of the high-impact infectious diseases Mpox, Ebola, and Cholera through the lens of one of Africa’s foremost virologists. Professor Jean-Jacques Muyembe—who investigated the first Ebola outbreak in 1976 and led the development of the approved treatment Ansuvimab—shares decades of frontline experience managing epidemics in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The course covers virology, transmission, clinical features, and public health strategies for each disease, connecting local realities with global health responses. Designed for healthcare professionals and students, it equips learners with critical knowledge to understand, detect, and respond to emerging pathogens in a rapidly changing world.
