Immunodeficiency and Immune Deficiency Diseases

by Peter Delves, PhD

Immunodeficiency refers to the lack of a sufficient immune response to pathogens, which leaves the body vulnerable to continued colonization. A lack of adequate immunity can be primary or secondary, being caused by inherited disorders or external factors, respectively.

In this course, the student will be introduced to primary and secondary immunodeficiencies and their pathophysiology.

For optimal comprehension, the student must have a preliminary understanding of molecular and cellular biology, emphasizing gene expression, protein synthesis, signal molecules, and cellular receptors.

Thank you dear Professor, great simple way to explain difficult topics.

Thank you for this great course
By James H. on 31. December 2020 for Immunodeficiency and Immune Deficiency Diseases

I really like this professor: rather than emphasizing memorization, he emphasizes understanding of immunological concepts, making immunology really interesting. One of the best lecturers for Lecturio.

It was ok
By Joseph A. on 16. June 2020 for Primary Immunodeficiencies Associated with Autoimmune Disease

I had a professor that would just stand there and talk also, not very helpful. At least point to the picture or something.
