The skin is the largest organ in the body and is affected by both external and internal factors. Skin disorders account for a large percentage of primary care and emergency department visits, yet most medical students are not given an extensive education on the manifestations of such disorders.
It is likely that you, your family members, or close friends have been afflicted with a skin disorder, whether it is acne, rosacea, or even cutaneous lupus. No matter what sort of clinician you become, a basic understanding of skin disorders and pathophysiology will likely prove beneficial in the future.
In general, dermatology lectures are not completed. There are some diseases or infections that it didn’t cover.
