Pain during the birthing process, whether during a natural birth or a cesarean section, is a major point of concern for pregnant women, and nurses need to know the available options for controlling pain during labor.
In this course, you will learn about the factors that affect pain and pain perception in the different stages of labor. You will also learn about pain control options such as analgesia, epidurals, spinal blocks, pudendal blocks, and cervical blocks. Additionally, we will discuss which medications nurses must have a working knowledge of, as well as review childbirth preparation programs that expecting parents can participate in.
