Medications for Men's and Women's Health (Nursing)

by Rhonda Lawes, PhD, RN

Typical terms affecting men and women include erectile dysfunction, benign prostatic hypertrophy, the menstrual cycle and hormones as well as contraceptives. To treat diseases, it is often required to know the basic conditions of men and women. As a nurse, you need full understandings of how the reproductive system works and what interactions you have to look for. Therefore, reviewing your theoretical knowledge of the hormones in men and women as well as the menstrual cycle is the first approach to learning the appropriate drugs, such as PDE5 inhibitors and oral contraceptives.
