Types of Studies

by Raywat Deonandan, PhD

In order to answer a research question, a study is carried out. Epidemiologists and clinical researchers design clinical studies to yield data sets, which they analyze and require to answer a specific research question. Clinical studies are designed by epidemiologists and clinical researchers to yield the data sets required to answer research questions after being analyzed.

In this course, the student will be introduced to the different types of observational and interventional studies, along with the correct applications for each type.

For optimal understanding, the student is required to have preliminary knowledge of epidemiology. Since some concepts may be very abstract to some, it’s encouraged to rewatch some video lectures until the concepts are fully grasped.
