The social determinants of health are factors influencing health outcomes that are not medical in nature. This course offers an in-depth exploration of these different factors, with a focus on identifying and addressing the health inequities that they cause.
Dr. Richard-Eaglin is the Associate Dean for Equity at Yale School of Nursing and an Associate Clinical Professor. She is a champion for expanding diversity and inspiring cultural intelligence and cultural humility in health professions education and in clinical practice.
As a Certified Professional Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and Unconscious Bias Facilitator and Coach through the Cultural Intelligence Center, Dr. Richard-Eaglin has developed and provides customized workshops that inform practicing health professionals, health professions educators, students, researchers, and staff in multiple departments on the application of CQ to organizational wellness, bias management, and mitigation of bias-influenced health outcomes.
Within Lecturio, Dr. Richard-Eaglin will teach courses on Diversity, Equity, and Cultural Intelligence for healthcare professionals.
