Quotient Rule, Chain Rule and Product Rule

by Batool Akmal

In calculus, the https://app.lecturio.com/#/course/c/7422quotient rule is a method of finding the derivative of a function that is the ratio of two differentiable functions. This applies when there is one function divided by another function and it is necessary to take the derivative of that.

The chain rule allows us to take the derivative of a composite function. A function is composite if you can write it as f(g(x)). In other words, it is a function within a function, or a function of a function.

The product rule (alternatively, the Leibniz rule or the Leibniz product rule) is a formula used to find the derivatives of products of two or more functions.

All of these rules are useful in our toolbox to differentiate increasingly complex equations and make mathematics a more powerful tool for us to employ in problem-solving.
