The labor process and delivery of a baby often occur without complications, but some deliveries require certain procedures to decrease complications for both the mother and the baby. Nurses are crucial for ensuring these procedures are performed safely.
In this course, you’ll learn about the procedures of labor and delivery, such as the external cephalic version, amniotomies and amnioinfusion, and the use of vacuums and forceps assist in delivery. We’ll also discuss episiotomies, cesarean births, and vaginal births, as well as the significance of a woman giving birth via cesarean section followed by a subsequent birth via vaginal delivery.
