Mindful communication, the act of communicating consciously with awareness of not only one’s own verbal and nonverbal behaviors but the behaviors of those the individual is communicating with, helps to reduce errors and prevent perpetuating inequities while promoting trust and advancing cultural intelligence.

In this course, individuals will learn the different types of communication, factors affecting communication, and methods of communication that foster trust and understanding.

Angela Richard-Eaglin, DNP, MSN, FNP-BC, CNE, FAANP, CDE

Dr. Richard-Eaglin is the Associate Dean for Equity at Yale School of Nursing and an Associate Clinical Professor. She is a champion for expanding diversity and inspiring cultural intelligence and cultural humility in health professions education and in clinical practice.

As a Certified Professional Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and Unconscious Bias Facilitator and Coach through the Cultural Intelligence Center, Dr. Richard-Eaglin has developed and provides customized workshops that inform practicing health professionals, health professions educators, students, researchers, and staff in multiple departments on the application of CQ to organizational wellness, bias management, and mitigation of bias-influenced health outcomes.

Within Lecturio, Dr. Richard-Eaglin will teach courses on Diversity, Equity, and Cultural Intelligence for healthcare professionals.
