I had to google most of the terms. Interpreted the chart on my own. The information was all there but it was not explained properly.
why does he teach in such a patronizing manner? Whenever I see that Raj MD is teaching the subject I go elsewhere to learn.
Thank you this was extremely helpful as I study for the NCLEX
Loved the way Prof Lawes presented — clear and easy to comprehend.

Thank you this was extremely helpful as I study for the NCLEX
Loved the way Prof Lawes presented — clear and easy to comprehend.
I was super confused about PBC and PSC but Dr. Raj made it clear! love his style of teaching
Although the course gives you a good desccription of the liver anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology, it doesn't touch on treatment and reasons for commencing a particular treatment.
Explained very clearly helping me prepare for finals. Thank you
not sure how to connect some things or how they link up. just difficult to follow and conceptualise
Dr. Raj has a way of engaging the student that is second to none. He is very good at what he does.
I am a medical student and I absolutely adore the way nurse Rhonda Lawes teaches. She has a palpable maternal aura that makes listening to her very comforting and it also makes me want to please her by doing well on my exam. Like she has expectations of me and I absolutely can’t let her down. She is so good.
As always, Dr. Raj is an outstanding teacher. I just love the way he drills concepts into my brain by connecting all the subjects together from biochemistry to pharmacology. You leave a topic with a thoroughly cohesive understanding of the subject. Teaching is a talent and Dr. Raj has it.
I'd recommend to watch from here. You could also start with pancreas. But, I think this might be a better step 1 for me.
Dr. Raj taught with clinical scenarios in view. I like the fact that he gives acronyms.
I think Dr. Raj is the best lecturer, he explains briefly everything we need in med school for exam and for our practice life as a doctors, so I am so glad and thankfull to lecturio teem and Dr. Raj. I was the only one who understand everything about liver diseases in the school today. Thank you
I loved it so much and Prof Rhonda is just awesome!
Professor Lawes exhibits effective didacts. Impossible not to focus and retain all we can. She reinforces key points again and again in fun and different ways. Her diction, intonation, composure, all of her teaching attributes make her one highly effective professor.
Engaging, fun, makes learning more effective. Enunciation of words is quite pleasant. Voice intonation is pleasant. Even tired, I manage to keep my focus.
Absolutely amazing explanation! Step by step! Especially about the bleeding and elevated estrogen levels!
you have explained it brievly, cool, thank you so much
Yes . Hello Lecturio Team and Doctor Carlo Raj. Brilliant lectures It has great content and differentials are highlighted really well. Especially key points are described excellently . Many thanks indeed.
too little information even about therapy and moa. Dr Raj is literally reading the slides. i can do it by myself.
Brief but accurate in its presentation and what is included. Thank you.
Short to the point and very helpful for quick revision
I love it a lot because Rhonda Lawes is a great instructor and for her excellent job I feel so confident. I feel happy to hear Lecturio video course.
Guy seems cross and the lecture is lacking in context and flow
Thank you very much for explaining this topic well. After a look through several youtube videos this was the best one!
great lecure and wide coverage of key poinds like investigations. I like the style and the content. Thanks
good points covered. clinically relevant. good cases. thanks! I enjoyed this lecture.
very good lecture. high yield. excellent coverage of the topics.
I hadnt understood the condition until this lecture. Well expalined.
I dont know why on earth someone gave this 1 star. Excellent summary. As aways to the point.
clarified some of my misconceptions like the type of nutritional def associated with the condition and which parts of the bowel is affected. I am unsure why people gave it 3 star.
this topic is well explained and the discussion is clinically correlated. Thanks
good review of the topic. I am unsure why someone has given it 3 stars. Cant fault it.
such a good lecuture. Covers the topic in a broad sense. good clinical value.
my favourite lecturer. great lecture on such a complex topic
Thank you for such a good lectue. This has clarified things in my head and organize the topc.
very good approach to the problem of dysphagia, clear algorithm to reaching the diagnosis.
the speaker didnt mention at all serology and markers. insufficient information
great tutor, very informative and direct to the point helped a lot
Absolutely amazing videos! So easy to understand and retain. Thank you !
Very simplified lecture. Recommend to all biology lovers. Starting with basic steps and not passing too much information in one cession.
very well explained. I would recommend this lecture to any medical student. I enjoyed every bit of it.
Very concise and to the point. Easy to watch and listen to.
I thought this topic was very well explained. Thank you so much.
The lecture is concise and to the point. It is just the information I need, but also thorough. I appreciate how the physician walks me through a case from initial presentation all the way through treatment.
Best instruction ever, breaks it down and makes it easy to understand and learn.
Easy to understand, broken down perfectly. Her series is nursing is perfect!
Its was perfect explanation But not 5 since i still have questions
I never knew this at all after I watched this video I learned a lot
the best teacher ever. I wish i had you in every single subject. you make it so simple to understand and connect with student.
Such personality! Loved your lecture Dr. Raj! Keep up the good work!
Excellent class. It help me so much to separate what is really important, from what it's not. Very clear
Carlo Raj simply read the slides, he could've said so much more about this important topic...
AS ALWAYS DR.CARLO RAJ IS A MAGICIAN (WHO CONVERTS TOUGH TOPICS =EASY TOPICS)
this lecture was easy to follow and informative. a good refresher for a&p.
I would have liked a quiz to take it helps with retaining the information
Excellent way of teaching with high yield information, kudos to Dr.Raj
Rhond Lawes She is the best. She is genius. She is able to transfer her knowledge very well.

Excellent lecture by Dr.Raj , i like it very much. i love his sense of humor
Very well explained, makes remembering the difference between the cancers memorable!
The best lectures I've seen on the Hepatology. Best teaching style by the faculty. I would highly recommend the Lecture series.
Using Lecturio makes understanding and subsequent digesting and memorization of the material, so much easier. The lectures and notes are concise and to the point.
He is an excellent teacher that help me understand the concept very well
A great teacher that make concept to sink well. Does a Great job!!!
Excerlent course. All key points are presenting clearlly and I would recommend them to my classmates.
very good teacher, brings a lot of practical information. nice vid
Clear explanation and differentiation. Eliminates confusion and is concise but complete
This lesson is very methodical and easy to understand finally especially after years being away from school.
Videos are short and simple and good...but some topics should be given in more detail.
Dr. Raj as usual Concise + Direct + Very clinically relative = LIFE SAVER
The teaching is excellent and more from a practical point of view.
It is difficult to understand everything that the teacher says.
Excellent, very detailed, now feel more confident in the treatment and care of this infection
Best explanation,Dr.Raj makes any difficult topic very easy. thank you very much Sir
Excellent summary of hep B. Thorough explanation of serology. Thanks Dr Raj!
Dr. Carlo Raj is not competent in all of that spheres, why you put him in all videos? Very difficult to understand.
Dr. Raj mostly did a good job teaching, but I would have appreciated a bit more pathophysiology and explanations e.g. for alcoholic fat liver disease.
Clear and concise with high yield facts Makes learning a pleasure! Ability to play pause and reply lecture sequences is a great feature!
Really covered a lot of the material I need, which was not what other platforms offered. can be just a tad bit more extensive on the hepatology and also endoscopic procedures and ERCP/ MRCP. also mentioning what is the gold standard for certain diagnosis when applicable would be amazing.
Did not feel comfortable with the accent, way of communicating the information, way of pausing between one point and another. I am sorry to say that, but to me, and this is my personal view, and no offense, it is irritating
Dr. Raj does an excellent job in explaining the material and tying everything together. He will even be funny at times.
The content is not up date but the general content is regular
its very good but plz there is some videos without translate!!
He explains everything so well; this is exactly the kind of question we get on our exams in university of maastricht. It's detailed, but serology explanation is really helpful
Concrete and useful information. Explanation is simple a to the Pointer.
Dr. Raj is obviously invested in our learning the topics. He emphasizes certain words or points that you pick up on right away. No boring power point regurgitation!
Bcs he explained everything very smoothly. And I understand faster. And am happy to be part of this wibsite
Great delivery of PBC. one of the best pathophysio professor for step 1 review
I enjoy Dr Carl a lot, great and clear and more so easy to understand. Makes medicine a lot more fun
wached pathoma and then went for this . explaiation not up to the mark
This may be the best tutor in lecturio, according to my preference of high tempo, fast questions and high yield facts. He promts, even urge you to be your best.
Informative! There were quite a few different things i learned from this lecture. I now have a better understanding of the disease.
Speaks too fast Could include more detail Pronunciation was a little bit strange
Every aspect is accurate and explained well In all aspects
Every aspect of the lecture is well explained. Presented accurately . Every part of it is very clearly understood by all. Very good topic
A rare topic presented very well. It is very accurate to understend for any one
It is a nice prasentation with a prompt accuracy and clear discription
Very nice topic told very clearly and every thing is clearly underdtood
Thank you so much for the lectures. This is pretty thorough and easy to understand.
satisfying. I am watching the lectures with enthusiasm. Great guy. Very helpful for the exam.
Muy buen video, claro y concreto, me gustó mucho su charla.
Very strange pauses while speaking, felt condescending at times. Not like his other videos, he seemed not confident in the material
like it very much, nothing to say too more. His lecture is very easy to understand.
fantastic teaching with instant impact to improve self confidence and boost knowledge
Great lecture and Dr. Raj is wonderful. My only comment would be to add a bit of information about the pathogenesis tied to the different etiologies
Easy to understand :D Very helping me to study better and better
He is clear, full of substance without any need to explain but gives accurate description.
i dont know why but i dont like this lecturer in his slides here is lot of ontroversies slides says one thing and lecturer says another thing
Excellently explained everything. I was looking for alternative to Kaplan and I think this is it.
Excellent! Dr Carlo covered hepatology well. Thank you so much.
lacking crucial points about pathogenesis - egthe pathogenesis of cirrhosis (ie stellate cells), does not link key symptoms and signs with pathology, just provides a list instead.
the lession is very insteresting, but i think i could be explained a little better, showing and explaining an image of CXR of atelectasis, sentinel loop AXR. Also it coulde be better if hidroclorotiazied mecanism way of producing muscle weakness is explained after answering the question of the quizz, and the indications of the ERCP explained. Thanks
To the point. lesson for life, highyieal, we’ll categorized
Very great video, as someone probably mention earlier a bit more pathophys would be appreciated
The review was easy to understand with clear explanation. I also appreciated the test sample after the lecture. It tested my knowledge regarding the subject matter thank you
He is the best lecturer on this site. His style of teaching is very powerful. He is not too fast, he knows when to pause for a second, when to repeat a word.Thank u Sir.
Lots of materials covered in a short time. Very good review lectures
Clear as always. I like the way he emphasizes things. A lot
Comprehensive Detailed with anatomy Clinical examples Minimum words Great explanations
These lectures are very informative, detailed. I learned a lot from the lectures.
Wow.. What a Wonderfull course! Actually, I have linked the short videos that Dr. Carlo made with other educational videos, then I read the articles for each lecture, It was really like I have covered all of the I linked the peptic perforation with celiac trunk artries Or GIT Hormones with Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome. Thank you doctor Carlo.. from my heart really..
Dr Ray is very funny and know how to give his lecture in order to make everyone understand the core concept.
Thank you very much Dr. Raj for explaining such difficult concept and make it so easy to understand. For everyone we don't have so much time to read and to cope with boring lecture.
There are many more symptoms of oropharyngeal dysphagia than those mentioned (e.g. increased chewing time, inability to form bolus etc.). Also, referral to speech pathology would provide additional insight into the patient's dysphagia.
It was very usefull but the problem it has no much pathophysiology informations
thank you prof Raj for the good explanations, you know how to keep the attention of the student
Very good lectures nice and concise with no beating around the bush
Very funny the way that he explains everything, make difficult concept very much easy to understand and with high yield information!!!
Very clear and simple presentation Many exercises after all videos I would recommend it to my colleague
the tutuor did a great job but i find this topic diffucult and did not get a clear picture of it yet
I'm a huge fan of Dr. Raj so this may be a bit biased. Dr. Raj does an excellent job of hitting the high points and his anecdotes are quite relevant. You almost feel as though you're on rounds or in the clinic and there's a patient presenting with symptoms. Video examples of the endoscopes would be awesome btw.
I like it, please make high eyelid question, I ll really appreciate it,thanks
I felt that there where some details missing, Dr. Raj did give out the basic description of the majority of diseases, but if the videos where a little more complete I wouldn't of felt the need to go read and look some where else
Good way of classifying the causes but missed out on defining the pressure (>5 mmHg) and potential treatment options such as propranolol, TIPS etc.... Also what about the potential complications, which would have been perfect to discuss here ie variceal bleeds
Missed another important benign tumour of the liver that would have been worthwhile covering
It would have been great to list the most common agents that could potentially lead to liver toxicity aside from paracetamol, incl phenytoin, statins, amiodarone, methotrexate. Also not sure if this would be discussed in the Emergency Medicine talks but actually working up the patient and what to do from a monitoring point of view once a diagnosis of paracetamol overdose would have been really helpful. It would have been worth noting that acetylcysteine most efficacious within 8 to 10 hours after ingestion of paracetamol.
It would have been good to discuss the use IV arantiprotease for the management of this condition. Moreover a little bit of discussion about the genetics of this conditions how it influences the disease presentation and natural history.
It would have been useful to go over the Rome III criteria to have an appreciation of the diagnostic criteria. Moreover, it would be extremely beneficial to cover the red flags
For example no mention of primary scelorising cholangitis, need for colonscopy after 8 yrs of active disease and subsequent colectomy if premalignant lesions identified. Also no mention of toxic megacolon. It would have been good to discuss the hierarchy of management in these patients
A superficial talk about an important contributor to malabsorption. I think it would have been good to discuss why we need to assess for the prescence of IgA to begin with. What the role of HLA is in the disease. Moreover, the importance of biopsy as well as the long term complication of celiac disease include osteoprosis, neurological impairment and enteropathy associated T-cell lymphoma.
It would would have been good to further elaborate on dx testing and in which clinical circumstances one would be more appropriate over the other. Also with the increasing incidence of resistant organisms I feel the lecture didn't adequately outline appropriate second line management. Also the error regarding PPI which was flagged by another listener
I think the lectures provide a quick summary of these sections. However, I don't think it is adequate depth particularly when it comes to management. This is exemplified by the management of oesophageal varices where it is unclear which management approach will be utilised first/preferred in the case of acute bleed nor is it clear when you will need to utilise TIPSS. Finally a number of diagnostic tests are mentioned throughout the talks but the audience is not provided with a basis to approach the patients sitting on front of them. As an example if a patient complains of dysphagia or dyspepsia what will be your first diagnostic tests and the order in which you will perform these test. I think this the higher level thinking required for step 2
No mention of ongoing follow up and grades of barrett's
So far the path lectures on my iPhone are great. I drive 30 minutes to school each way and I think they are very comprehensible even when it's this more passive learning style. They are perfect for getting my brain ready for school and winding down on the drive back.
his lecture is short & more useful good for practice study easily
GREETINGS; I gave it a five star rating,b'coz this is first time i m encountering such a review course which is very concise, yet so enlightening that u get a complete grasp of the most important topics in HEPATOLOGY .I w'd recommend these lecture courses for all 3rd year medical students in this part of world [ASIA].The best part about these lectures n personally which i liked the most [as i being a critical care post graduate student] r the ''IN USE'' criteria for liver transplantation like KING'S COLLEGE CRITERIA n criteria for prognostications, like charcotte--pugh n MELD SCORING. CARLO RAJ SIR REALLY ROCKS
