Beneficios del tamizaje

  • El objetivo es detectar una enfermedad temprana, que:
    • Es más susceptible al AL Amyloidosis tratamiento
    • Está asociada con un mejor pronóstico
  • Varios estudios también muestran una asociación favorable con la cesación tabáquica.

Riesgos del tamizaje

  • Alta tasa de falsos positivos
  • La mayoría de las anomalías detectadas son nódulos benignos.
  • Conduce a una biopsia o cirugía innecesaria
  • Mayor exposición a radiación
  • Sobrediagnóstico:
    • Detección de cánceres que no habrían afectado la morbilidad o mortalidad del paciente

      • Adultos de 50‒80 años
