    00:01 Vitiligo is our topic here.

    00:04 It is an autoimmune mediated loss of melanocytes.

    00:08 So what does that mean to you? You can imagine that the skin would then appear as being hypomelanotic.

    00:13 In other words, hypopigmented, right? Vitiligo.

    00:19 Morphology would be macular depigmentation as opposed to the condition that we looked at, melasma, in which there would be hyperpigmentation of macular description.

    00:31 Common on eyelids, nipples, hands, elbows, and knees.

    00:39 If you take a look at this patient’s leg, you’ll notice that there are areas of depigmented macular regions.

    00:46 Demographics involve person of all ages and races and most notably, obviously, in patients of darker skin.

    00:57 Your management here will be potent topical steroids, light treatment, and cover up makeup if at all available.
