    00:01 Cranial nerve VIII or vestibulocochlear nerve, it's sort of like two nerves in one.

    00:08 We can think of the cochlear nerve as the nerve that's connecting to the organ of corti within the cochlea, which is the organ of hearing.

    00:16 And that information is going to be passed through the cochlear nerve back to nuclei in the medulla.

    00:24 There's also the vestibular component, and the vestibular component will carry information from things like the utricle, saccule and the semicircular canals.
