00:01 Hi. Today we're going to talk about the very basics of fetal monitoring.

00:05 When we talk about fetal monitoring sometimes we get really anxious because we see these new graphs and it's complicated.

00:12 There's a lot of motion, and what I want to stress for the new graduate nurses that learning to read the fetal monitor is something that takes a lot of time.

00:21 We're just going to cover the basics so that when you go to the floor, you know what's going on and you can recognize when something is just not quite right.

00:29 You won't be as sophisticated as someone who's well-seasoned, but you'll definitely be able to go in and say, this looks okay, or I'm not quite sure.

00:37 So, you ready? Here we go.
