    00:01 Our topic here is a very common skin condition called ichthyosis vulgaris.

    00:08 Immediately, take a look at the picture here, and if you take a look at that picture, you should be able to identify this immediately as being fishy scale.

    00:17 Okay, let's look at the skin.

    00:18 It looks like it’s the scale of a fish.

    00:21 Dry skin, fish like scale, especially on the lower legs.

    00:27 That’s your clinical pearl, ichthyosis vulgaris.

    00:30 It’s a beautiful name.

    00:31 I love saying this, ichthyosis.

    00:34 More common to patients with atopic dermatitis.

    00:37 Both associated with mutation in -- please understand or memorize that particular gene called filaggrin type of gene.

    00:50 Management: moisturizers.

    00:52 It’s so incredibly dry.

    00:54 And so therefore, you want to have moisturizers and keratolytic topical agents.
