00:00 Now we talk about the urinary system. Neurogenic, same thing, right? We had a neurogenic bowel.

00:07 Now, this is a neurogenic bladder, so the patient losses bladder control so they have a lack of bladder control because of their brain and spinal cord or nerve problem.

00:18 So, neurogenic bladder is anyone who cannot control their bladder like you normally would as an adult because they've had a brain hit, spinal cord damage or a nerve problem. So what do I do? Well, as a nurse I can do a neurogenic bladder assessment, I can cath the patient which we know we try to avoid at all cost but this is a really pretty special case.

00:41 So you're gonna make sure that you assess and collaborate with the health care physician and decide on what's gonna be a long-term plan because we may need to do something alternative for this patient if we cannot address this problem of the neurogenic bladder.
