00:05 Dermabond is a fantastic resource for closing wounds.

00:08 The benefit is obviously you're going to go very quickly.

00:11 But that said, it's not necessarily something you want to get in the wounds.

00:15 This is basically superglue. Okay.

00:17 So when you want to put your wound together, you have to be able to approximate the wound without any tension.

00:23 And if it looks good, then you're ready to close it.

00:26 Now this is the Dermabond PRINEO pen.

00:28 This is way bigger than you would ever need for a small laceration.

00:31 I'm going to show you the technique.

00:33 Basically, you'll squeeze the ampule And then you'll have a small little amount of it.

00:37 You just squeeze it and then you slide it over the incision. Okay.

00:42 When you're done with it, you get to the very end, If it's running off anywhere, you wipe it off quick and just let it kind of sit there on top of the incision. Okay.

00:49 Not that big of a deal.

00:51 Quite honestly, not the most exciting thing to show.

00:53 Just playing with superglue is just as effective as Dermabond is.

00:58 The difference is, Dermabond itself is much more expensive.

01:01 And for the sake of practicing it, I don't think it really makes that big of a difference.

01:05 It's basically a simple skill of just going on top of the marker of with a coming of coma of a marker like this.

01:12 Now, this is kind of cool. This is Dermabond PRINEO.

01:15 And this is something that I think is kind of need to show just because this is a different concept.

01:23 This is actually like a mesh that you put on top of the wound.

01:26 And then you paint on top of this mesh with this big pan of Dermabond with this will do is this is going to actually create a barrier that locks down and creates both a flexible moving wound covering but it also doesn't require you to do a subcuticular closure for the last layer.

01:44 So this is expediting the turnover between a lot of times orthopedic cases.

01:48 So this is what this would look like.

01:50 This is for a longer incision.

01:52 Obviously we could cut this use something small like right here.

01:55 What you do is you put on half of it, you stick it down, you pull it over and put the other half down, and then you basically paint it with this pen. Okay.

    02:02 So that's Dermabond PRINEO.

02:03 I'll put a link to a cool video from Johnson and Johnson that shows how they do that on a pig.

02:07 I think it's very useful the way they present that.
