This course is designed to guide APRN students in their journey toward becoming advanced practice providers, facilitating the transition from the traditional nursing role to the advanced practice setting. This course will equip students with the knowledge, skills, and mindset necessary to excel in advanced practice roles such as nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, certified registered nurse anesthetists, and certified nurse midwives.

Rhonda Lawes, PhD, RN

Dr. Rhonda Lawes is a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), and an Assistant Professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing in Oklahoma, USA.
She obtained her PhD in Educational Psychology from Oklahoma State University in 2016.
Due to her achievements, she has earned numerous teaching awards. She teaches nursing students how to use the science of cognitive learning to maximize their study effectiveness.
Within Lecturio, Dr. Lawes is the Director of Nursing Education Programs, and teaches courses on Pharmacology (Nursing), Medical Surgical Nursing and Pathophysiology.

Elizabeth Russ, FNP

Elizabeth Russ is a Family Nurse Practitioner (NP) and business owner.

Nurse Liz, as she is affectionately known, regularly offers tips to help nursing students excel in their careers. She uses social media to document the joys and challenges that come with being a working parent and healthcare professional.

Her platform is designed to be an open and safe space where students can share their experiences and insights to build confidence and encourage growth in one another as part of a community.

Amy Howells, PhD, CPNP-AC/PC

Dr. Amy Howells is an Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Washington School of Nursing in Seattle, Washington.

She graduated as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) from the University of Texas, Houston in 2005, and practised as an instructor, later as an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed two post-master’s certificates in nursing education and acute care PNP, and finally obtained her PhD in Nursing from the same university in 2014. In 2016, she joined the University of Washington to facilitate the creation of the acute care PNP track.

Within Lecturio, Dr. Howells teaches courses on Pediatric Nursing.
 David Warren, FNP, ACNP, ENP

David Warren, FNP, ACNP, ENP

David Warren, FNP, ACNP, ENP, is a board-certified nurse practitioner currently specializing in emergency medicine. He currently works as a Nurse Practitioner at the Trauma/ED at Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
He obtained his BSN from the University of Texas at Tyler and an MSN from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Kimberly Posey, AGPCNP-BC, DNP, PhD, GS-C

Dr. Kim Posey is the Director of Graduate Nursing and an Associate Professor of Professional Practice at Texas Christian University. She has achieved dual doctoral status, holding both a Ph.D. and a DNP in nursing. She is dual certified as an Advanced Adult Nurse Practitioner and Gerontological Nurse Practitioner and holds a certification in nursing education. As a Gerontological Specialist certified by the Gerontology Nursing Certification Commission she is recognized as an APRN who possesses expert knowledge, experience, and skill in managing the complex health needs of older adults. In addition to this impressive educational background, she maintains active clinical practice with adult and geriatrics patients in the primary care area. At Lecturio, Dr. Posey teaches nurse practitioner content.
