00:01 Today we're going to talk about the menstrual cycle. 00:03 Now, I want to first tell you that this is an overview. 00:06 If you really need a deeper dive into all the nuances of the menstrual cycle, check out Dr. Law's presentation on the menstrual cycle. 00:14 And she'll go over all the details. 00:16 This is an overview as it prepares us to have a really good discussion about all things maternity. 00:22 Are you ready? Here we go. 00:25 When we talk about the menstrual cycle, we're actually talking about three separate cycles. 00:30 And they are the HPO cycle, which stands for hypothalamus, pituitary, and ovarian cycle. 00:38 We have the ovarian cycle itself, and we have the endometrial cycle. 00:43 We're going to talk about all three. 00:45 But I want to remind you that they're happening at the same time. 00:49 This is obviously a very complex system, but it's going to be great because we're going to break this down and by the end, you'll be able to put these all together.
