Alright, so we've tested our knowledge on
knowing when membranes are ruptured,
and we've tested our knowledge on
knowing when labor may have started.
So let's talk about the labor.
So next we're going to look at the
stages and also the phases of labor.
So there are actually four stages and
we're going to break this down into each stage.
So stage 1 begins with the onset of
regular contractions, and cervical change,
because we now know that's labor,
and it ends when the cervix
is dilated to 10 centimeters.
Stage 2 goes from 10
centimeters to delivery of the fetus.
So that might be an exciting time
that we get to talk about a little bit later.
Stage 3 goes from delivery of
the fetus to delivery of the placenta,
and stage four goes from delivery of
the placenta to two hours after delivery.
So those are the stages.
