00:01 In nursing school, it's really important to stay healthy. So start overall healthy habits now.

00:08 We're gonna talk sleep, food, and physical activity.

00:13 I know this seems really silly, but it is crucial to help you to be able to maintain stamina, throughout nursing school. Remember, it's a marathon, not a sprint.

00:26 Due to how busy you are, lots of stress, it's absolutely important to take care of your body, so sleep is number one. Yes, sleep.

00:37 There is no way you can cram all night and do well the next day on the exam.

00:43 Your mind cannot reason through complex application questions when you're sleep-deprived.

00:49 So, turn off your Facebook, your Insta, your TikTok so you are not wasting precious time that you could be sleeping.

00:58 Now, let's talk about food.

01:00 Fast food is not a great way to fuel your body. So find recipes that are easy.

01:06 Not to mention this is going to save you a lot of money in nursing school, right? So make things you can make in bulk and something, maybe, you could easily reheat, just sandwiches, chicken and rice, enchiladas, wholesome foods to revive nutrients that are super important for your body.

01:24 And don't forget about fruit or veggies to snack on.

01:27 You can use nuts, protein-bars, all of these things are way better to keep up your stamina than energy drinks and fast food.

    01:37 Now, let's talk exercise.

01:39 You're gonna say and I have students say it all the time that they don't have time during nursing school. Well, let's face it, you really do.

01:48 How many times do you get randomly stuck watching Netflix for far longer than you meant to, or you go to Target or a store and you just walk around and spend way too much time in there? Or you're on social media and you get sucked into the abyss of other people's lives, funny videos, other entertainment, 30 minutes, that's all I'm asking.

02:10 If you could spare an hour, walk your dog or your pet, ride your bike around the block, take a light jog, and, honestly, one of my colleagues in nursing school, used to have their students log their physical exercise for the week in the course, and if they were consistent, hey, they got some points.

02:28 So it's that important guys.

02:30 This is what will keep you healthier, it's proven to relieve stress, get your body moving, and usually help you sleep much better as well.

02:40 So, bottom line, don't forget about good sleep, good nutrition, take care of your body so you can be successful in nursing school.
