00:01 Welcome to a discussion about the discomforts in pregnancy. 00:05 Now, we do a lot of "Yeah," cheerleading about pregnancy, but sometimes it's like a "Mehh" pregnancy. 00:11 So, we want to learn about those expected discomforts and what suggestions we might offer the pregnant patient and their family to help make things a little bit better. 00:21 So, we have some questions that we want to keep in mind as we go through these discomforts because it will help us make sure, not only that we know the information, but that we understand the physiology. Oh, yeah, it's coming back. 00:33 So, I want you to ask yourself whenever we introduce a complication, what is the underlying physiology? How did it happen? Why does it happen? We also want to think about whether it's normal to have the discomfort. 00:47 So, sometimes things happen during pregnancy and it's an indication of an underlying complication. 00:52 So, is it normal to have it or is it kind of an indication that something might be going wrong? We also want to know how to decrease the discomfort. 01:01 So, sometimes, the discomfort is to be expected, because it's a part of carrying another life. 01:06 But there are things we can do to make things a little bit better. 01:10 And then finally, what is the point when it sort of creeps in to that complication and we need to offer some sort of intervention? So, does it indicate pre-eclampsia, or does it indicate diabetes or something else? Keep this in mind as we go through each of the discomforts and you will be all set, I promise.
