    00:03 Potential lab work for cholecystitis diagnosis can include a CBC, bilirubin, liver enzymes, total protein, and albumin.

    00:13 Now additional diagnostic tests and procedures include ultrasound of the gallbladder, abdominal CAT scan, gallbladder radionuclide scan, and an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, otherwise known as an ERCP.

    00:28 A cholecystitis will resolve in some patients without treatment, or may require treatment to prevent complications.

    00:36 Complications from an inflamed gallbladder include gangrenous gallbladder, subphrenic abscess, pancreatitis, cholangitis, biliary cirrhosis, fistulas, and rupture of the gallbladder.
