This course provides nursing students with an in-depth understanding of Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), a critical and potentially life-threatening complication of diabetes mellitus. It emphasizes the pathophysiology, clinical assessment, diagnostic interpretation, and evidence-based management of DKA, including recognition of electrolyte and acid-base disturbances.
Students will also learn to differentiate DKA from related hyperglycemic emergencies, preparing them to deliver safe and effective nursing care in acute and critical care settings.
