00:06 The benefits of cultural intelligence include promoting a deeper more meaningful understanding of others. So remember that. First, we have to understand ourselves and then when we develop CQ, we can also understand others. It improves our understanding of why people do things the way they do them and then it lessens our judgment against people because they may be doing something that's different from what we feel is normal. It helps us to positively work effectively and successfully with other people. So thinking about organizational norms and our relationships with our patients and families, their families. Increasing our productivity by decreasing conflict because when we talk about those cultural values preferences, remember that's usually where the conflict comes in because we think our way is the bright way. But that's okay if we recognize that you're feeling something because someone's doing something differently then you're able to control it, have a conversation and see where you can meet in the middle. 01:09 Because there is such a thing called 3rd spacing that I didn't mention before and 3rd spacing is the space of compromise when we talk about CQ. Right in the middle, how can we not change who we are and what our preferences are and also not invalidate somebody else's preferences and beliefs. And also, you know I talked about a bunch of times it improves relationships. The beauty of all of these is that remember I mentioned it's research based and research shows that as application of cultural intelligence increases, then there's a decrease in biased decision-making. And that's the beauty of all of that because our transformational journey is to get to a space. I mentioned early on about equity and equality. 01:58 So we get to that space of fairness and the space of recognizing then we all have the right to exist in the peaceful space. So that's every human regardless of what our differences are and that's the takeaway from all of these. So, when we do this and employ that cultural intelligence so that we decrease those biased decision-making situations, then we also stop the othering. So I wanted to mention that too, we do put people, well I talked about relegation and marginalization and othering people, just focusing on "Every single human being, I'm going to close with that again, deserves the right to live authentically and in a peaceful world."
