    00:01 I think one of the common misconceptions about the NP role is that nurse practitioners are trying to replace physicians.

    00:08 That is absolutely not true.

    00:10 There's a massive shortage of health care workers across the country anyway.

    00:14 And so I really think that there's a place for everyone to practice and we can really expand the care that we're able to give to the public.

    00:21 I think that a common misconception from families and people who are not as familiar with nurse practitioners are that they're not entirely sure what we're doing.

    00:33 Are we partnering with the physician or are we trying to replace them? So sometimes it just takes a little bit of explanation about why I'm there and how I can help them that day.
