    00:00 So, let's wrap up this part of the video series. Effective treatment of a UTI is a team sport that requires all of the healthcare team to be on their A game. The most commonly prescribed antibiotics for an uncomplicated UTI are nitrofurantoin, TMP-SMX, and fosfomycin.

    00:21 If there's more than 1 organism, the healthcare provider will look for 1 antibiotic that will attack both organisms. The healthcare provider will consider efficacy, cost of treatment, risk of adverse effects, resistance, and drug availability when determining the most effective antibiotic.
