    00:00 So let's wrap up what we've learned so far.

    00:03 The kidneys remove excess fluid and waste products from the body.

    00:07 The anatomy of the kidney involves layers from the internal medulla to the external layer of pararenal fat.

    00:14 Blood flows into the kidneys through the renal artery and exits the kidney through the renal vein.

    00:20 Now urine exit the kidneys via the ureter and it drains into the bladder.

    00:25 And remember, those nephrons are the working units of the kidney and stretch from the medulla to the cortex.
