    00:03 Glomerular Nephritis is an inflammation of the glomeruli It affects both kidneys and can be either acute or chronic In this video we talked about an acute example Glomerulonephritis can be caused by infections, autoimmune diseases, vasculitis, conditions that scar the glomeruli like diabetes and hypertension or other causes such as amyloidosis or illegal drug use Now streptococcal glomerulonephritis develops one to two weeks after streptococcal infection of the tonsils or the pharynx for the skin and it's usually resolved quickly in most patients, but nurses need to educate patients and watch for signs of glomerulonephritis, including Edema and changes in their urine output and appearance.
