Leigh is an award-winning and experienced educator in the field of physiology, biology, and chemistry, who graduated from Texas A&M University (B.S. in biology, chemistry minor) and Miami University (M.S. in physiology, and M.A.T. in secondary education). Leigh has taught at the college and high school levels and has an extensive background in teacher training. She was an associate editor for the National High School POGIL (Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning) Initiative, which focuses on writing curricular materials in the sciences and training teachers to utilize cooperative learning strategies. Her work with climate change literacy has earned her the American Chemical Society (ACS) Sustainable Educator Award for writing curricular materials, publishing articles, and presenting public and professional talks on climate literacy. As a member of the Learning Science Team at Lecturio, Leigh writes articles and presentations on educational topics and supports research conducted by the team on learning science and evidence-based strategies for medical learners.
