Anxiety and Anxiety Disorders: GAD, Phobias, OCD, PTSD (Nursing)

by Brenda Marshall, EdD, MSN, RN

Mental health disorders such as anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder aren’t prohibitively the purview of the psychiatric unit. These disorders are common to people of different races, social classes, and educational levels, so you will encounter them in patients in all clinical settings. It’s important to know how people that suffer from these disorders are affected so that you can positively contribute to their treatment and recovery.

In this course, you’ll learn about anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and certain phobias. We’ll discuss relevant pharmacology and how to interview patients with these disorders and then review some of the defense mechanisms employed by these patients.

I feel the instructor doesn't quite trained enough in video presentation. It's much slower moving.. clunky.
